A short 15 minute ride on our ferry will take you to Shackleford Banks, the southern most island of the Cape Lookout National Seashore. This island offers the best shelling on the east coast and is home to more than 125 wild banker ponies.
Shell collector? This is the place to be... Conchs, Scotch Bonnets, Whelks,
Queenʼs Helmets and Olive shells are just a few of the treasures that wash up
daily.
This island is unique as it offers a wide variety of options for adventure.
On the sound side there are calm waters and long stretches of beach--a perfect
place to read a book, work on your tan or just relax. Just around the western point of the island you will find the Atlantic Ocean.
Breaking waves offer great opportunities for boogie board enthusiasts and
surfers. Those interested in collecting shells should wander this way. Wife and kids want to play on the beach, but you have the itch to fish? The western point of Shackleford Banks is a favorite fishing spot. Drum, Flounder and Blue Fish are some of the most common fish caught. But remember! Anyone 16 and older must have a Coastal Recreational
fishing license and you must comply with the most recent fishing regulations. Camping trips can also be arranged through our ferry service. Bring what you
need and we will carry you and your gear over. Camping in paradise is just a
short boat
